Central Avenue is the spine of St. Pete's bar scene, running from Downtown through the EDGE District, Grand Central, and the Warehouse Arts District. Downtown St. Pete has the polished cocktail rooms and rooftops, the EDGE District is the walkable craft-beer and dive corridor, Grand Central leans indie and LGBTQ+ friendly, and St. Pete Beach is the sunset-and-tiki scene.
Intermezzo, Mandarin Hide, and Bodega on Central set the bar for craft cocktails downtown. In the EDGE District, Il Ritorno's bar and Cider Press Cafe run creative menus. Enigma and Park & Rec cover Central Ave, and No Vacancy hides one of the best programs in the city.
Central Avenue between 4th Street and 31st Street is the bar-hopping stretch — nearly every block from Downtown through the EDGE District and Grand Central has multiple bars within a two-minute walk. Beach Drive downtown covers the waterfront side, and Corey Avenue on St. Pete Beach is the seaside version.
Florida law allows alcohol service until 3am, and most EDGE District and Grand Central bars stay open until 2am or 3am on Friday and Saturday. Downtown cocktail rooms typically close by 2am, and beach bars wrap between midnight and 2am depending on the season.
The Canopy at the Birchwood is the classic downtown rooftop with Tampa Bay views. Sundial's rooftop bars, the Vinoy's terrace, and the Hotel Zamora rooftop on St. Pete Beach round out the list. For casual open-air, hit the outdoor decks along Beach Drive and Corey Avenue.
